Quick facts
Getting ashore
When to visit Okinawa (Naha)
Best in spring and autumn; the subtropical summer is hot and humid and sits squarely in the Pacific typhoon season from roughly June to October.
Getting back to the ship on time
Churaumi Aquarium is about two hours each way at the far north of the island, so it only works as a ship excursion or a very early independent start — it is the single most common way to run late here. At Shuri Castle the grounds and walls are open but the Seiden has stayed closed since the 2019 fire, so confirm with the park before making it the centrepiece.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
