Getting ashore
When to visit Yokohama (Tokyo)
Spring (late March-May) for cherry blossom and autumn (October-November) for colour are the best windows; summer is hot and humid with a typhoon risk from August to October.
Getting back to the ship on time
A Tokyo day trip is only about 30 minutes by train, but the return runs through some of the busiest stations on earth — build in a full extra hour, and check which pier you are sailing from, since Daikoku is not walkable.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
