Quick facts
Getting ashore
When to visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife
With its famed year-round spring climate, Santa Cruz is a true all-season port; the classic Canary Islands cruising season peaks from October to April, when ships escape the northern European winter for temperatures around 20-24°C.
Getting back to the ship on time
A Teide round trip eats most of a port day (about 3 hours of driving plus time at altitude), so leave a generous buffer before all-aboard. Cable car queues can add 30+ minutes and the Teleférico closes in high wind — book tickets online in advance.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
