Quick facts
Getting ashore
When to visit San Juan
Best December-April for dry, warm mid-80s°F weather; June-November is Atlantic hurricane season with higher rain and storm risk.
Getting back to the ship on time
Independent trips to El Yunque rainforest run 45-60+ minutes each way from the Pan American piers, so allow a wide buffer since city traffic and narrow Old San Juan streets can slow the return and the ship departs on schedule.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
