Getting ashore

Dock. Ships dock at Havensight (about a 20-25 minute walk or short taxi to Charlotte Amalie) or Crown Bay (roughly 2 miles/10-minute taxi from downtown).

When to visit St. Thomas

Best December-April with dry, breezy mid-80s°F weather; June-November is hurricane season with a higher chance of rain and storms.

Getting back to the ship on time

Independent trips to Magens Bay or across to St. John by ferry can run long due to island traffic or ferry timing, so build in generous buffer since the ship will not wait for non-ship-sponsored tours.

A little history

Once the Danish West Indies, St. Thomas was sold to the U.S. in 1917; Danish street names remain.
