Quick facts
Getting ashore
When to visit Geiranger
Best June-August for warm weather (roughly 15-20°C) and waterfalls at full flow from snowmelt; shoulder months are cooler and wetter.
Getting back to the ship on time
The last tender back, not the posted all-aboard time, is your real deadline, so build in a wide buffer and skip full-day Dalsnibba or Trollstigen trips unless you're in port 8+ hours, since independent passengers get no tender priority.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
