Quick facts
Getting ashore
When to visit Marseille
Best in May-June or September; July-August is hot (around 30°C) and can bring mistral winds, while winters are mild.
Getting back to the ship on time
Confirm the free shuttle's last run time before heading into town, and if you go independently to Aix-en-Provence or Cassis, leave a large buffer since the shuttle stops operating well before evening and the ship won't wait.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
