Quick facts
Getting ashore
When to visit Naples
April-June and September-October have pleasant mid-20s C weather for exploring Naples, Pompeii, or the Amalfi Coast; July-August is very hot and roads to Amalfi/Sorrento get congested.
Getting back to the ship on time
Amalfi Coast and Pompeii excursions face notorious traffic on narrow coastal roads, so independent travelers should leave those areas at least 3-4 hours before all-aboard time.
All-aboard is ship's time — check it in the daily programme, and set your watch to it.
